Poster Rating: D+ / C-

Review: (#1) Putting your protagonists in a simplistic, but not evocative romantic embrace won’t win many fans. (#2) It may be sparse, but it says something briefly compelling about the film. Then it does nothing more and won’t help sell the film as a result.

Review: (#1) I’ve heard so many suggest this has the potential to be a great film and with that cast, why wouldn’t you believe that. However, looking at this first trailer, the narrative seems a tad schmaltzy and the situations forced.

(#2) With a stronger look at the film’s plot through this trailer, we’re given a significant amount of emotional complexity to make it feel less like a Movie of the Week presentation and more like the potential Oscar contender people are referencing it as.

Oscar Prospects:

There’s already chatter building about this being an Oscar contender and releasing in September is a good sign; however, September’s also a bad month to release Oscar contenders.
