Review: (#1) Lots of nice colors here, but the empty background is unnecessary. It does tell the viewer something about the subject matter, but not enough. (#2) A more chaotic art style doesn’t make up for the paucity of the content of the image. It also makes it look less like a stylistic choice than a crude one.

Trailer Rating: C

Review: Jeff Goldblum’s narration seems rather odd in the context of the film, which has a lot of vibrant, flashy artwork that nevertheless tries to hard to force the audience into believing this figure is important. They may be important, but the trailer works overly hard on dictating that to the audience.

Oscar Prospects:

It’s always possible the film could earn an Animated Feature nomination, but there are just enough contenders to make its chances limited.
