Looking at the Weekend #13: June 25-27, 2010

(Updated 6/23/10, 2:39p: Added Wes’ contribution) This week we have two new wide releases, a limited release and a New York/Los Angeles-only release. Grown Ups and Knight and Day duke it out for the weekend crown, but will likely come in under the second week of Toy Story 3. Stranger things have happened, though. The other two releases are war documentary Restrepo (limited) and Wild Grass (NY/LA).

Consensus

We agree 100% on the following:
Grown Ups: We won’t be watching this film and it’s not an Oscar contender.
Knight and Day: Not an Oscar contender.
Restrepo: This is a Minor Oscar contender (for Documentary Feature).

Thoughts I dislike everyone in the cast and some I even detest as actors (if you can call them that). The premise is ridiculous and the one funny pool scene in the trailer is funny the first time, dumb the second and annoying every time after that.	Thoughts Looks pretty lame.
