We’re back for another adventure looking at the week’s newest releases. One of the four titles below may seem familiar. If so, that’s because it is: Furry Vengeance was one of the first features we ever previewed here on CinemaSight. Back on March 31, our first post in this regular article series, the film was said to be coming out. However, a last-minute release date change pushed the film off…until now. So, instead of re-writing our thoughts, I’m just going to repost our original ones.

In addition, there are two more wide releases and a limited release feature in the list below. Enjoy our look at this week’s coming features.

Thoughts

I consider A Nightmare on Elm Street to be one of the greatest horror films of all time. It is rich with symbolism, possesses a brilliant and terrifying theme and serves up some of the most indelible images the genre has ever seen. So, I’m going to see it…but I’m exceedingly apprehensive about this remake…it will take a great deal of effort to please a life-long Elm Street fan.

Thoughts

I’ve avoided watching the original for close to thirty years so I have absolutely no interest in seeing the remake.

Thoughts

My wife loves horror films, so we may rent this at some point, but it looks pretty horrid.

Thoughts

I have never seen any of the Freddy Krueger movies, and the remake doesn’t interest me in the least. Anyway, if this kind of movie is your thing, then it should be about as good as the remakes of “Friday the 13th,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” or “Halloween,” which probably isn’t saying much.

Thoughts

It’s been a long time since I was interested in seeing a Catherine Keener movie. This one doesn’t look great, but it looks like it might be aggressively decent.

Thoughts

After Friends With Money I swore I would never watch another Nicole Hofcenter film as long as I lived. Nothing about this film seems likely to change my mind.

Thoughts

Nicole Holofcener is one of my favorite American independent filmmakers, so I always hold high hopes for her next film. Hopefully, this one could push her into some overdue award recognition.

Thoughts

I had never heard of it until just now, but I looked it up and saw that it currently holds an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so it might be a renter.

Thoughts

Stupid comedies about animal revenge are about as corny and unfunny as a Pauly Shore movie.

Thoughts

Brendan Fraser hasn’t made a good movie since The Quiet American. This looks like another dumb kids’ movie which unfortunately has become his trademark.

Thoughts

None

Thoughts

I haven’t seen or heard anything about it, but the premise sounds stupid. I think I’ll pass.

Thoughts

So, I love horror films and not much in that realm really bothers me…but there’s something disturbing and kinda creepy about this one. I doubt I’ll catch it before DVD, but my curiosity is minimally piqued since it’s such an inventive concept.

Thoughts

Looks squirm inducing.

Thoughts

I hate this new genre of film, and will avoid this one.

Thoughts

It doesn’t interest me.
