The Fantastic Four didn’t have as good of a second weekend as it should have, which could mean it’s toppled by one of this week’s release. Freakier Friday seems like the most likely to come out on top but none of the new release have a very good friday.

WIDE RELEASES
FREAKIER FRIDAY SKETCH WEAPONS

Freakier Friday

Wesley Lovell: I didn’t have any interest in the original and this doesn’t change my mind.

Pete Patrick: Looks a bit too silly for my tastes but I might give it a try at some point.

Thomas La Tourrette: It might prove cute, but it stands a better chance of being tedious.

Sketch

Wesley Lovell: It has an interesting idea but might be a touch childish.

Pete Patrick: Not sure what to make of this kids’ movie, but reviews have been strong.

Thomas La Tourrette: The early reviews are good and it looks like a fun and new concept. Could be interesting.

Weapons

Wesley Lovell: While I found the first trailer interesting, subsequent ones haven’t made it look that appealing.

Pete Patrick: Psychological horror film looks better than most.

Thomas La Tourrette: The trailer starts off as a different type of horror film, but it looks like it quickly devolves into typical stuff.

LIMITED RELEASES
ANIMALE BOYS GO TO JUPITER MY MOTHER’S WEDDING STRANGE HARVEST

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Strange Harvest might be interesting but nothing else looks to be.

Pete Patrick: Kristen Scott Thomas’ directorial debut, My Mother’s Wedding, originally titled North Star, looks like the best of the bunch.

Thomas La Tourrette: It’s sad that the most intriguing film might be the weirdly animated Boys Go to Jupiter, though the description did not really go with the trailer. All the films look mediocre to bad.
