Blumhouse horror films often do decently at the box office. M3GAN also features an interesting premise, which could bolster its chances. Will it be enough to overcome the inherent advantage of the latest weekend of Avatar: The Way of Water‘s release? That’s less than certain and possibly unlikely.
Our Highest Rated Films: M3GAN, Alcarràs Our Best Awards Ratings: No consensus.

Wesley Lovell (WL): It’s an interesting premise, but I’m not terribly excited about Blumhouse’s output. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Looks like a decent if derivative horror film. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The doll is creepy, but it is just not my type of film.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): It looks like it is beautiful to look at, but might be a bit slow moving. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Spain’s Oscar entry is worth a look. Thomas LaTourette (TL): It sounds like a well intentioned very personal look at how life can change, but a lackluster trailer will not help it succeed at the box office.

Individual Commentary:
Wesley Lovell (WL): A forgettable trailer often means a forgettable film. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Nic Cage goes Gary Cooper in his first traditional western. Interesting. Thomas LaTourette (TL): The trailer shows Nicolas Cage killing a lot of people, which takes a lot of the suspense out of this violent looking western.
