One new wide release this week will battle Logan for the box office crown. All signs point to a strong debut for Kong: Skull Island, so we’ll have to see whether Logantakes a huge drop or is a solid hold over. Ultimately, I think Kong has the edge.

Wesley Lovell (WL): The March release date has me concerned, but it looks like an enjoyable film. Peter J. Patrick (PP): World War 1 romance could be an art-house hit.
Wesley Lovell (WL): I’m still not sold on Kristen Stewart as an actress, but she is working with one of France’s reigning talents. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Something tells me if this were as good as early reports, it would have been released months ago.
Wesley Lovell (WL): The concept holds some interest for me, but the trailer isn’t sufficiently interesting. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Ugly looking vegetarian horror movie. No thanks.
Wesley Lovell (WL): If it weren’t for the cast, I’d be largely uninterested. Peter J. Patrick (PP): Art-house drama with an excellent cast has me interested.
