There’s little to no chance that Martin Scorsese’s The Killers of the Flower Moon or Dicks: The Musical is going to outperform the second weekend of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

WIDE RELEASES

DICKS: THE MUSICAL

KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON

Dicks: The Musical

Wesley Lovell: It looks way too cheesy.

Peter J. Patrick: Looks a little silly but it won an award at TIFF so they may be on to something.

Thomas La Tourrette: I am all for new movie musicals, though I have mixed feelings after watching the trailer. This looks to be in pretty bad taste, but I will see it anyway.

Killers of the Flower Moon

Wesley Lovell: While I’m not a die hard Scorsese fan, I will catch his new movie.

Peter J. Patrick: One of the year’s most highly anticipated films so of course I want to see it.

Thomas La Tourrette: The reviews border on ecstatic and I want to see the film, but by the end of the trailer it looked as violent as any Martin Scorsese film which was not a selling point.

LIMITED RELEASES

BUTCHER’S CROSSING

THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

MALIBU HORROR STORY

NYAD

PAIN HUSTLERS

THE PERSIAN VERSION

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: Some rather unappealing films with a couple of solid possibilities and one major Oscar contender.

Peter J. Patrick: Nyad for sure with the animated remake of The Canterville Ghost a possibility.

Thomas La Tourrette: The one must see of the week is Nyad, boasting Oscar-worthy performances by Annette Bening and Jodie Foster, though the trailer is not that exciting. The Persian Version and The Canterville Ghost might prove enjoyable, though neither look that funny. Persian at least has some decent critics’ reviews so far.
