ThoughtsIt’s one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. It is a surefire Oscar contender and may also pick up a few. It’s a cultural zeitgeist kind of film. I’ll definitely be checking the film out. |
ThoughtsThe best reviewed American film in years and the presumptive front-runner for this year’s Best Picture Oscar. A defintie Must-see. |
ThoughtsIn the past few years, Fincher has grown into an important American film director, and would make this a must see without the phenomenal word of mouth surrounding the film. |
ThoughtsNot merely a major contender for a Best Picture nomination; it’s actually quite possible that this film could go on to become our next Best Picture winner. Additionally, nominations for Best Director (David Fincher) and Best Adapted Screenplay are already assured, and nominations for Best Actor (Jesse Eisenberg) and Best Supporting Actor (Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, and/or Armie Hammer) are all possibilities, as are nominations for Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Original Score. I’ve been pumped up for this movie since I first saw the trailer a couple months ago and plan to see it opening weekend. It should do significant business at the box-office and has a great shot at hitting $100 million when all is said and done, especially considering its inevitable Oscar re-release in January/February. |

ThoughtsI don’t care if it’s the next Citizen Kane. I am not watching the film out of principle. It is one of the few films I’ve seen the original foreign language entry and no matter how much those who’ve seen it say it’s spectacular, I don’t want to give money to an industry keen on adapting films that are quite perfect in their originality. |
ThoughtsI didn’t care for the extravagantly overpraised Swedish original, but the Hollywood remake has been getting good advance notices so I’ll probably give it a shot. |
ThoughtsThis film hasn’t been popping up on a lot of predictions, but with its pedigree and the word of mouth it could play an interesting part in this fall’s contests. |
ThoughtsI liked the original film and have had some reservations about the remake. Although the film has received some outstanding reviews, I’m not really excited enough to rush out and see it in the theater. |

ThoughtsIt looks atmospheric and I like that, but the plot just seems to be a bit too recycled for my taste. |
ThoughtsBlah title, but possibly interesting tale of a social worker (Renee Zellweger) and the young girl whose case she investigates. |
ThoughtsFor those of us wondering the past few years what Renee Zelwegger was up to, this is not a promising answer |
ThoughtsIt looks utterly predictable and boring. |

ThoughtsI have given up documentaries. I rarely enjoy them and with so much on my plate, I would prefer to reserve my time for pure entertainment or for catching up on classics. |
ThoughtsA new documentary from the makers of Super Size Me does not interest me. |
ThoughtsThe documentary could be a player in the Documentary category, but that is starting to get overfull. |
ThoughtsWhile I give kudos to the producers for assembling an A-Team of Oscar-nominated/winning documentary filmmakers, it has the potential to be a giant mess. |

ThoughtsWhile not particularly my cup of tea, Kristin Scott Thomas does look good in it and the story isn’t entirely unoriginal. Still, I am doubtful it will be one of the foreign entries I catch this year. |
ThoughtsWas not on the list available for Peter to review before his vacation, so his data her is intentionally left blank. |
ThoughtsKristin Scott Thomas is getting good buzz, but the film looks like it is going down a well-worn path. |
ThoughtsI suppose that Kristin Scott-Thomas is a dark horse Best Actress contender, but I think her chances are highly unlikely. |

ThoughtsAn unwanted sequel for a film no one saw. I have been cooling on slasher films lately, so I doubt I’ll go out of my way to see this one. |
ThoughtsHmm, with that title it could be either a sequel to Hatchet I or the Patrick Wilson castration comedy noted below. In either case, I have zero interest in seeing it. |
ThoughtsThere was a Hatchet I? |
ThoughtsI wasn’t even aware that there was a Hatchet I. Not the least bit interested in this one. |

ThoughtsPatrick Wilson is the only reason to even consider this movie. He looks like a hoot. But it’s not really a film I’m dying to watch. |
ThoughtsA comedy about castration? Are they serious? |
ThoughtsA great cast, but an unfunny-looking disaster. |
ThoughtsAnother week, another dull indie comedy. |

ThoughtsBland. Independent films I’ve seen in the last few years have been far too pretentious and meaningless making this yet another film I’m not particularly keen on seeing. |
ThoughtsAt least with a title like that you can’t mistake it for a work of art. |
ThoughtsAnother lame looking Indie comedy. |
ThoughtsSee comments for Barry Munday. |

ThoughtsThis is the kind of entertainment that might be fun to pop in on some lazy Saturday. I wouldn’t see it at the theater, but would consider watching it when it hits DVD. |
ThoughtsStrictly for cartoon lovers. |
ThoughtsThis is supposed to be a good collection of short films, which are usually too hard to come by. |
ThoughtsI hadn’t heard about it until just now, but having read about it it sounds like it might be wonderful. It’s definitely going in my Netflix queue. |
