We have a rather busy week of new releases. We have two films going wide, the final Resident Evil and pseudo-documentary The Virginity Hit. Four limited release are going out: Bran Nue Dae, I’m Still Here, Legendary and The Romantics. Then there’s a film releasing only in New York and Los Angeles: Heartbreaker. (NOTE: Pending data from Wes)

While the first film was enjoyable enough, I never bothered with the sequels and don’t really have a desire to see this one.

Thoughts

Never played the games, never saw the first three films in the franchise, have no desire to see this.

Thoughts

Haven’t seen any of the series, why start now?

There’s nothing in the trailer that makes me want to see the film.

Thoughts

Enough with the American Pie wannabes.

Looks like one of a hundred uninteresting indie films.

While it might be amusing, I don’t think I’ll take time out to see this one.

Thoughts

Aboriginal musical seems like an original, but I can wait for the DVD or cable TV showing.

I never really had much interest in this project even if it actually turns out to be a performance art piece.

Thoughts

No desire in seeing a gifted actor spacing out for real.

Thoughts

Bizarre subject matter and Casey Affleck behind the camera might make me check this out.

If it contends at all, it will be Patricia Clarkson mentioned alone, but I really don’t see that happening largely because the film doesn’t look that good.

Thoughts

What is the audience for high school Greco-Roman wrestling?

Thoughts

Looks like a dismal sports film with an ending that is evident in the first reel.

Thoughts

It’s one of those romantic dramas that fails to ignite with audiences and probably also will with Oscar voters.

Thoughts

Another week, another probably lame romantic comedy. Unless this gets stellar reviews I won’t even watch it on cable.

Thoughts

With this cast, I would think the buzz would be greater. That can’t be a good sign.

I think it looks like it could be entertaining enough, but it may not have much emotional resonance or originality. So, I’m undecided on whether to see it or not.

Thoughts

Probably exists just to show that the French can make modern romantic comedies as lame as their Hollywood counterparts. Another film that would have to receive stellar reviews to pique my interest even a little.

Thoughts

The buzz overseas was phenomenal, which will make me check it out.
