The American Film Institute has chosen its annual list of the ten best American films of the year. In years past, they have had varying success at getting Oscar nominations with a record 9 of 10 last year, but considering how many prominent foreign films are in competition this year, that number is sure to be somewhere between last year’s 9 and the prior year’s 5.
