The San Francisco Film Critics can often be one of the best predictors of the younger film critics groups and they’ve given their top award to 12 Years a Slave, but gave the most prizes to Gravity. Their nominations tell the story of a group who got more access to The Wolf of Wall Street than a lot of other groups, though the film went home empty-handed. The win for James Franco in Best Supporting Actor as well as the American Hustle victory in Best Original Screenplay mark the group’s only real departures from current narrative.
