In a surprising twist to the Oscar season, 12 Years a Slave, which seemed like a periphery nominee for the Costume Design award has not only pulled off a victory, but has upset what has been seen by many as a two-fer for The Great Gatsby. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire win was largely expected, but Blue Jasmine was also a bit of a surprise.
