It may prove to be the least predictive Broadcast Critics awards in recent memory, but it proves that everything is still slightly up in the air this year. It proves that Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty aren’t as indestructible as we had been thinking and in the end, the film that picks up a slight plurality will be the winner. Who knows what this will mean. We’ll have to wait until the end of Oscar season to see what it all means. They still managed to pick mostly Oscar contenders, but they didn’t go out of their way to recognize anything particularly egregious.
