The USC Scripter nominees are typically fairly intriguing. This year’s batch, however is a been-there-done-that list of Oscar and WGA nominees that doesn’t really go for anything original or exotic. And apparently, they couldn’t leave anything out, nominating SIX films for the award when they typically select only five.

A screenplay is more than just dialogue, as evidenced by Kenneth Branagh’s 1996 nomination for “Hamlet.”

  Which was an insult.
  
  Even though I loved that film, it didn’t deserve to be nominated for best screenplay only for the original description of the scenes

There’s no doubt these 6 are the best adapted screenplays of the year

Too bad The Perks of Being a Wallflower wasn’t nominated

I left Life of Pi out in my predictions because I thought it to be more action than dialog, but the academy clearly loves it in every way.
