The split many have been predicting for the Oscars is happening at the Spirit Awards. That doesn’t mean much since the Film Independent voting body is much more keyed-in to trends and they tend to make hipper choices (though not all the time). Many of Saturday’s winners will likely carry over to the Oscars.
