There are two things you need to know about the London Film Critics Circle and their nominations. The first is that they have separate categories for British and Irish actors and directors. The Nominations Tallies below list only the non-British/Irish category numbers (the totals, including British/Irish citations are included in parentheses).

The other thing is that their eligible list of films is largely different from the Academy’s based on release date in the U.K. versus the U.S. Hence, why a 2015 Oscar contender like Son of Saul can earn a nomination in 2016 from London. Below are the nominees. Many British films tend to outperform with this group than with American critics, but without a Foreign-specific category, films like Son of Saul and Toni Erdmann compete side-by-side with the likes of Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight.
