The BAFTA nominations are out one day ahead of the Oscar nominations with some surprises. The awards will be handed out two weeks ahead of Oscar.
The surprises include the failure of directors Tom Hooper and (!) Steven Spielberg from Best Director, Ben Affleck as Best Actor, Denzel Washington and John Hawkes NOT in Best Actor. The rest seem to be largely expected with the strong performance of Skyfall‘s actors, but considering these are the Brits, it’s not a surprise.
