So, the Monday date was apparently for the winners, not the nominees. So, here are the winners.
I was resistant at first to believe it, but this may finally be Jason Reitman’s entry into the winner’s circle. Up in the Air is very much poised as an Oscar winner for Best Picture. It’s a bit of a surprise to me as Reitman’s a relatively new and fairly young (32) director. Of course, his film could win and he could lose out on Best Director while winning Adapted Screenplay. My latest predictions are online if you hadn’t noticed yet. You can find a link in the sidebar on the right.

Yeah, I’d heard him talked about as an Oscar nominee, especially considering his win at Cannes. Still, it seemed like some of the hype surrounding his performance was dying down. I’m just glad to see it isn’t.
Waltz has been talked about as an Oscar nominee for a little while now. Up in the Air is looking like a Best Picture winner and if so, would bring both Ivan and Jason Reitman Oscars.
