It’s not a huge deal… I didn’t notice it til very recently myself.
And as much as I hate to admit it, you’re probably right. Woody Harrelson would definitely be more the Academy’s style, especially considering he’s a previous nominee for a very praised role. Not to say they’ll give it to him mostly because of that, but it certainly increases his chances of a win.
Holy crap. I can’t believe I’ve been posting that wrong for so long…well, it’ll take a bit to catch all the instances, though I doubt I’ll get them all. Thanks for the catch.
I don’t think Tucci’s going to win, but I also don’t know that Waltz is going to win either. I could see this very easily going to Woody Harrelson in The Messenger or Alfred Molina in An Education. Both are far more in line with Academy tradition.
I’m certain that Christoph will be nominated – but the Oscar will probably go to Stanley Tucci for Lovely Bones or Julie and Julia . He’s been around a long time and probably worked with everyone in the Academy at one time or another.
I just thought you should know — it’s “Christoph Waltz”, not “Christopher”. 🙂
But speaking of Christoph Waltz, I’m so glad to see him getting so much praise. I think he deserves it, completely. Of all the films I’ve seen, his performance was the most captivating to me. Granted, I haven’t seen many of the other performances that are getting a lot of attention, but his was just phenomenal. Oscar will most likely nominate him, so I hope he takes home the gold.
