On Sundays, we list the weekend’s upcoming films along with previews of trailers and posters. On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
When faced with a choice between two evils, go with the one that has the most panache. Sherlock Holmes wins that contest. 2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
You should see Carnage just for the pure wattage of the female cast.

1. Which of the two new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Neither. The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas used to be considered dead time at the box office. Last week’s intake seemed ot revive the traditon and neither of this week’s releases would incent me to buck the tradition. 2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
If I had the time and the inclination I would go to see Carnage but downbeat films at this time of year have to be really special to force me to spend time with them in a darkened theatre and this one just doesn’t move me to do that.

I am not a fan of either type of film, but if you are, these should prove worthwhile. 2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
Carnage is one of my most anticipated films, although it is not for everyone I admit.
