Rating:C+ Commentary: It’s your typical Adam Sandler film and although this one looks especially unfunny, I don’t see why it won’t sell millions of tickets.

If it looks especially unfunny, why does it have a C+ rating? Just because you see no reason it won’t make millions? Not really a reason to give it anything above a regular C.
I rate the trailer itself, not the film. The trailer was worth a C+, though I wouldn’t pay money to see it. The trailer isn’t as unfunny as I think the film will be, but that’s based on my experience with Adam Sandler.
Wow. I know the grade is for the trailer. And you just said it looks especially unfunny. So your response makes no sense to me. Unless you’re suggesting that it feels more like a fake trailer for a spectacularly awful movie that should not exist.
I may think it looks particularly unfunny, but Adam Sandler’s fans will be gosh-darned ecstatic about it, almost ravenous. So, While I would give the trailer a low grade just for making it look unfunny to me, I will give it credit for successfully targeting the intended demographic.
Of course, not saying my opinion is the opinion of every Sandler fan, but I doubt I’m the only Sandler fan who feels this way. I just get the sense that this will turn off more Sandler fans than usual.
