Aside from the raft of new posters this week, I have a trailer that popped up that I reviewed in 2009. Here’s a link to my original comments on The Other Side of Paradise. It appears the film got pushed back an entire year and supposedly released on November 11, 2010. The new posters this week are far more interesting anyway, so here they are:

RABBIT HOLE, poster #2

Plot Summary: Trying to cope after the loss of their son a couple teeters on the edge of collapse.
Release Date: December 17, 2010

Rabbit Hole
Rating: A
Commentary: Such an interesting and inventive design. Shattered lives broken into stages, with the most joyous at the heart of the poster and more depressive at the edges. It has a number of psychological and thematic connections to the film including the rift that develops in the film between the two characters pictured as they move towards opposing sides. It works even if people won’t get the design.

I AM NUMBER FOUR, poster

Plot Summary: An alien teenager, hoping to settle down, but forced to flee from one town after another as he’s pursued by another alien race bent on killing him, finds love in his latest home and must fight to protect it.
Release Date: February 18, 2011

I Am Number Four
Rating: B+
Commentary: It’s a little too simple, but the hues are nice and inviting, that it’s a bit too similar to posters for The Last Airbender or Sorcerer’s Apprentice is its only significant flaw.

THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, poster

Plot Summary: They are responsible for making sure everything goes according to plan, but one politician has found love and won’t give it up easily even if it means the unraveling of everything he and they have been working for.
Release Date: March 4, 2011

Rating: B
Commentary: It’s a tad cheesy in certain respects, but the silhouettes on the building are a nice, simple touch that make it more than your generic action thriller poster.
