Rating: C+ Commentary: Nice music and the animation isn’t too bad and the story has promise, but this is the kind of trailer that won’t appeal to kids and animation isn’t always a big seller for adults. |
Rating: None Commentary: None Available. |

TINY FURNITURE

Rating: C+ Commentary: There are so many films that try to be philosophical, yet come off feeling a bit trite and condescending. This seems to be one of those kinds of movies. |
Rating: C Commentary: This penchant for huge letters taking up more than 70% of the poster design is getting a bit tiring. Most people don’t want to read a poster, they want to analyze it. While there are some elements that may be fun to examine, most of the poster fades form memory easily. |

FASTER, trailer #2
Plot Summary: An ex-con seeks revenge against the man that betrayed him and his brother resulting in his brother’s death, but is pursued by both a cop and a hit man. Release Date: November 24, 2010 |

Rating: C Commentary: A revenge flick with a lead that seems to have no moral compass. If you can’t identify with a victim, you can’t identify with a film and although they have tried to lay the framework for understanding why this man is killing these people, you don’t exactly care. |

BOXING GYM
Plot Summary: An urban Texas gym where various social and ethnic strata come together to train in the sport of boxing. Release Date: October 22, 2010 |

Trailer |
Poster |
Rating: D+ Commentary: There are three things being attempted here, none of which are very successful. Setting a rhythm of the sounds of a gym, slowly building to the end. It’s interesting, but it’s supremely annoying. The second is trying to establish the various cultures aspect, which visually is there, but isn’t terribly noticeable. The third is with a brief bit of dialogue, the owner tries to explain the gym, but with the sound effects in the background, it’s hard to key into what he’s saying. |
Rating: C- Commentary: Ho hum. It’s a bland, wide shot of the vacant gym. It’s not exactly the kind of poster that draws people to it. |

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, PART I, posters #15, #16, #17 & #18
Plot Summary: The first half of the final film in the acclaimed series takes Harry Potter and his friends Ron and Hermione and puts them square into the battle against Voldemart and his resurfaced army as they attempt to bring their new dominion to the world and kill Potter in the process. Release Date: November 19, 2010 |

Previous Preview: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I |
Rating: B- Commentary: Design wise, these seem more congruent with the earlier poster series, but they also have a pairing aspect that none of the previous groups had. The first two suggest a tenuous relationship between Harry and Ron over Hermione, but the same theme doesn’t follow with the third poster and the fourth is a little bit more like the first. Still, none of these have yet to eclipse the very first poster for this film. |
