Closing out the week with a tiny bit of a delay in posting, we have a batch of new updates. New trailers for Windfall, Inspector Bellamy and Monsters, plus new posters for Megamind and Fair Game.
MONSTERS, trailer #2
Plot Summary: After a NASA probe crash lands in Mexico, strange new lifeforms begin appearing and threaten to kill everyone they meet. Release Date:October 29, 2010

Rating:B Commentary: The trailer’s an unfortunate cross between Cloverfield, Quarantine and District 9. While being akin to Cloverfield would seem appropriate, a comparison to District 9 is not. Still, it provides just enough teases to entice monster movie fans.

WINDFALL
Plot Summary: A small town finds a solution to its economic woes when a corporation says it can help revitalize them, but the windfarm they create only causes them strife. Release Date:Coming Soon
Trailer
Poster
Rating:B Commentary: The trailer sets the perfect tone of alarm, but doesn’t present enough information to truly form an opinion about the documentary itself.
Rating:B- Commentary: Decent color selection and a lot more inventive than a lot of mainstream films and most tepid documentary posters.

INSPECTOR BELLAMY
Plot Summary: A police detective on holiday with his wife takes on a mysterious case. Release Date:October 29, 2010
Trailer
Poster
Rating:B- Commentary: The music is a bit distracting and ill-fitting to the narrative on display. There’s enough teasers to keep from giving away the plot, but make the film still seem interesting.
Rating:C- Commentary: Are producers trying for gritty realism? It doesn’t exactly work. The poster is minimally chromatic, filled with excess space and lacking any appropriately active elements.
Trailer Link:Apple Trailers Oscar Chances:France probably won’t submit the film for consideration.
MEGAMIND, poster #7
Plot Summary: (NEW) After years fighting against one another, a new villain emerges forcing two arch enemies to work together to defeat him. Release Date:November 5, 2010
Rating:B Commentary: Playing wittily off the political posters like the one Obama used in 2008, the poster isn’t a great advertising tool for children, but might pique the interest a few adults.

FAIR GAME, poster #2
