Trailer

Rating: C+
Commentary: It’s cute in a childish sort of way, but there’s nothing that really helps appeal to the adult demo that enjoyed the show as kids.
Rating: C-; D; C-
Commentary: The teaser is somewhat clever, but ultimately frustrating. It has too little information to be of use and sets up the possibility of a chessy movie.

The full trailer on the other hand, confirms all of the negative potential of the film. Built entirely on fish-out-of-water cliches and decades-old Smurf-verb jokes, I would be hard-pressed to believe the idea that this film will be any good.

The voice work is atrocious and the humor seems very basic, but Neil Patrick Harris could at least make it entertaining, though I want to punch Smurfette…and that’s not a good thing.
