On Sunday, I give my personal thoughts on the pending weekend’s releases. On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
What a dismal week at the box office. Hoodwinked Too is the only one I can even consider recommending.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
If you like documentaries or even caverns, Cave of Forgotten Dreams may well be your best chance.

None. They all look pretty bad.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
13 Assassins looks like an intriguing Japanese action flick and for cultural values you can’t beat Werner Herzog’s look into the oldest known pictorial history of mankind in France’s Chauvet caves in Cave of Forgotten Dreams.

Tripp Burton

Is there a non-of-the-above choice? If not, pick the genre of your choice and go with it.
2. Are there any limited release features this week that you would recommend (and why)?
The Herzog hands down, but Exporting Raymond looks like it could be a neat documentary to check out on DVD some day.
