On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and their responses are posted below.

Wesley Lovell

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
It’s hard to separate the chaff from the chaff. I’d have to pick Gnomeo and Juliet just because of the promising voice cast.
2. Which of the three new limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Of course you should see the Oscar Shorts…there’s nothing more important out this week.

Peter J. Patrick

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Gnomeo and Juliet, especially if you have kids to take to see it, assuming, of course, that it isn’t an embarrassment.
2. Which of the three new limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
2011 Oscar Shorts because it will make you a better informed viewer of this year’s Academy Awards.

Tripp Burton

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Pick the genre you like and go with it, or just skip them all.
2. Which of the three new limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
The Oscar Shorts are always more innovative, exciting and entertaining than anything else you will see in the theatre all year. Check them out!

Wes Huizar

1. Which of the four new wide releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
I guess “Gnomeo and Juliet,” but I’m not enthusiastic about anything really.
2. Which of the three new limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
The Oscar nominated shorts obviously, but that’s only because the other films sound like a waste of time.
