On Wednesdays, we preview all of the upcoming new wide and limited releases hitting the theaters the coming weekend. On Fridays, we’ll now tell you what you should see. We pose two questions each week to our contributors and will post their responses here in the new What to See feature.

Wesley Lovell

1. Would you recommend people see Paranormal Activity 2?
Had I seen the original, I might be more inclined to recommend this. The problem is that I’m not so sure a sequel is warranted or necessary.
2. Which of the four limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
I’m going to recommend The Taqwacores. Largely, because I think it’s the most interesting looking, but for most people, it is a bit of a change of pace from the standard indie fare.

1. Would you recommend people see Paranormal Activity 2?
Not unless they you’ve seen the original and choose to go back for more. I would not recommend it for the uninitiated. I am still reeling from the time I wasted on the similar Blair Witch Project more than a decade ago.
2. Which of the four limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
Depends on the person. If you’re into medical dramas, go see Inhale. If you’re into punk rock, check out The Taqwacores. If you just want to get lost in a thriller, go see Kalamity.

1. Would you recommend people see Paranormal Activity 2?
I have a hard time recommending films like this. If you are a horror fan, I’m sure it pays off pretty well. If you aren’t, then you can probably skip it.
2. Which of the four limited releases would you choose to recommend above the others?
To me, The Taqwacores looks the most intriguing, but they all fit into genres that are accessible to a lot of people.
