The Insidious franchise has a proven track record and I don’t see why it wouldn’t continue with this film.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Tony (Expands Wide)
American Martyr: The Stanley Rother Story (Limited)
Blood Shine (Limited)
Never Stop Chasing (Limited)
Nine Black Cats (Limited)
Paper Flowers (Limited)
To Use a Mountain (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
HOT SPOT INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER IT ENDS MUTINY SPA WEEKEND

Hot Spot

Wesley Lovell: This looks like it’s trying too hard to be cheese incarnate.

Pete Patrick: Futuristic nonsense is not my cup of tea.

Thomas La Tourrette: It boasts an unusual but weird trailer, both intriguing and off-putting. I have a feeling the off-putting part is closer to the actual movie.

Insidious: Out of the Further

Wesley Lovell: Another in a series of films I’ve had no interest in.

Pete Patrick: Another waste of time modern horror movie.

Thomas La Tourrette: I have not seen any of this series and have no desire to start with this one.

It Ends

Wesley Lovell: The concept has promise but the trailer isn’t nearly as intriguing as it wants to be.

Pete Patrick: Seems to be an amateurish take on Sartre’s No Exit.  No thanks.

Thomas La Tourrette: The early reviews are surprisingly good but the trailer does not generate enough interest to make me go out of my way to see this.

Mutiny

Wesley Lovell: Another actioner wasted on Jason Statham.

Pete Patrick: By-the-numbers actioner.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a below average Jason Statham thriller.

Spa Weekend

Wesley Lovell: The cast alone is appealing and the concept could be fun but it’s just as likely to be tedious.

Pete Patrick: Zany comedy could be the week’s best bet by default.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a lame female buddy picture and there was not much humor in the trailer.

LIMITED RELEASES
THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE THE MARCHING BAND

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: The Magic Faraway Tree could be fun.

Pete Patrick: The Marching Band looks like a charmer while The Magic Faraway Tree looks like a labored kids’ movie with a strong cast to help it go down.

Thomas La Tourrette: While The Magic Faraway Tree looks to be harmless family fun, The Marching Band scores good reviews and looks charming.
