The Saw franchise petered out a long time ago and they keep trying to revive it. Against two other contenders, it will be interesting to see if the studio’s gamble paid off. Paw Patrol: The Might Movie has the most potential to come out on top because it has a built-in audience, but it could also be a top-place finish for The Creator, which is an original sci-fi action film that could pique interest from audiences tired of sequels.

THE CREATOR

PAW PATROL: THE MIGHTY MOVIE

SAW X

The Creator

Wesley Lovell: I’m into science-fiction and this looks more contemplative than actiony, which suits me just fine.

Peter J. Patrick: Sci-fi with an interesting premise may be worth a look.

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie

Wesley Lovell: Not into this series.

Peter J. Patrick: Not interested in this franchise.

Saw X

Wesley Lovell: I used to love the Saw franchise, but it got so bad that it’s hard to muster up excitement.

Peter J. Patrick: This franchise outwore its welcome a long time ago.

THE KILL ROOM

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: 57 Seconds and The Kill Room both look cheesy bad, which could make them quite fun. I’d be in it for the cast rather than the narratives. The rest don’t appeal to me.

Peter J. Patrick: I have a few maybes but no real interest in any of these films.
