Although Project Hail Mary seems to be holding over well, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will likely be too big to allow any other film to top the box office.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

A Great Awakening (Wide)
Addition (Limited)
The Blue Trail (Limited)
Bonolota Express (Limited)
The Killer (Limited)
Reunion (Limited)
The Secret Between Us (Limited)
The Stranger (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
THE DRAMA THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE

The Drama

Wesley Lovell: Two solid stars might make this better than it looks.

Pete Patrick: I’m not sure what to make of this one.

Thomas La Tourrette: The trailer did not excite me and truthfully produced little interest in seeing this film about relationship drama.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Wesley Lovell: I don’t watch Chris Pratt movies anymore and since I didn’t see the original, I’m not interested in the sequel.

Pete Patrick: Apt to be a big hit but just not my cup of tea.

Thomas La Tourrette: I saw the original film which was okay, but not sure I need to see the sequel.

LIMITED RELEASES
LIVING THE LAND PAPA BEAR

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: My interest in these releases is dramatically different. Living the Land I don’t have an interest in but Papa Bear is something I actively don’t want to see.

Pete Patrick: Living the Land looks like an excellent Chinese film.  Papa Bear looks too silly for words.

Thomas La Tourrette: Reviews of Living the Land make it seem interesting but a dull trailer got none of that across. The hackneyed storyline is not great, but it is the bad dubbing that makes Papa Bear a pass.
