An intriguing battle will be taking place next weekend, the latest attempt to revitalize the Pixar brand with Hoppers and a unique take on the horror remake front in The Bride! It could go either way but you have to bet on animation to take the top spot at this part of the year.

OTHER RELEASES

We are only looking at films that have had trailers released on Rotten Tomatoes’ trailer YouTube Channels. Below are some other films that are releasing this weekend that we haven’t considered.

Protector (Wide)
André is an Idiot (Limited)
Bad Boy Karthik (Limited)
Corey Feldman Vs. The World (Limited)
Pompei: Below The Clouds (Limited)
Silver Star (Limited)
Starstruck (Limited)
Sweetness (Limited)

WIDE RELEASES
THE BRIDE! HOPPERS

The Bride!

Wesley Lovell: Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Bride of Frankenstein twist looks intriguing.

Pete Patrick: I need to see the reviews before I commit to this one.

Thomas La Tourrette: The trailer is odd and does not invite much interest, but it might prove worthwhile.

Hoppers

Wesley Lovell: Pixar has done great work in the past but their heyday is far behind them and this looks like another tepid release.

Pete Patrick: It looks like it could be fun.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a pretty bad animated film, but comes with a good pedigree so it might be worth seeing.

LIMITED RELEASES
DOLLY HEEL A MAGNIFICENT LIFE PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN YOUNGBLOOD

The Limited Slate

Wesley Lovell: A lot of films that don’t necessarily look great but which might have some decent potential.

Pete Patrick: These all look decent enough, but the only one I’m eager to see is A Magnificent Life based on the life of Marcel Pagnol.

Thomas La Tourrette: The animated A Magnificent Life looks to be the best of the lot though reviews are mixed. Heel might be okay but comes across very strange and I am not certain that I want to see it.
