No film has yet dislodged Spider-Man from the top of the box office and it might not be any film this week as these Labor Day weekend releases don’t have a lot of promise.

Wesley Lovell: It looks like a sophomoric anti-racism drama calculated to take advantage of modern times without actually resolving anything.

Pete Patrick: A worthy story, hope they do it justice.

Thomas La Tourrette: It covers some important territory, but it looks ultra violent and it just did not interest me.

Cocoon: One Summer of Girlhood

Wesley Lovell: The premise doesn’t seem exciting and the trailer doesn’t make it look it.

Pete Patrick: This 2025 Japanese TV movie might play better in streaming.

Thomas La Tourrette: Parts of it seem like it could be an okay movie, but the trailer does not show enough to make one really interested.

Fall 2: Deadpoint

Wesley Lovell: Nope. My anxiety won’t let me even consider this one.

Pete Patrick: Doesn’t look particularly interesting.

Thomas La Tourrette: Not sure there will be more to it than the scares in the trailer, but it does get the adrenaline going.

Onslaught

Wesley Lovell: Appears to be a rather charmless bloodletting.

Pete Patrick: Looks like just another mindless actioner.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks way too violent for my tastes and the trailer does not give any reason for it to exist.

Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass

Wesley Lovell: A cheap looking attempt to capitalize on an underutilized property.

Pete Patrick: Tom & Jerry only introduce this shenanigans.  Ignore it.

Thomas La Tourrette: It looks like a lame update of the Tom & Jerry series with little humor.
